OHIO VALLEY REGIONAL CHAPTER ANNUAL MEETING
Thanks to everyone who participated in the Spring 2018 meeting of the Ohio Valley Chapter of the Society for Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry. The meeting was held on April 20, 2018, at the Ohio State University Museum of Biological Diversity in Columbus, OH. The meeting was successful in bringing together environmental professionals and students to share ideas, and as an important step in revitalization of this regional chapter. Presentations were given on a wide range of topics, from effects of stressors on the genetic makeup of populations of aquatic organisms, to studying microbial growth in carpets, to characterization of microcystins from harmful algal blooms. The meeting received enthusiastic participation from academia, with presentations from students and professors from Bowling Green State, Wayne State, Ohio State, Michigan State, University of Cincinnati, Indiana University, Purdue University, Ashland University, College of Wooster, University of Cartagena, and Oakland University. Government entities represented included the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. Special thanks to the Society of Risk Assessment and the Great Lakes Environmental Center (GLEC) for their participation.
